Unique FC U13 0 vs 2 Cray Wanderers U13

Evening lads,

Please find attached my report from Sundays game.

That’s a way to bring us back to reality boys! A little reminder if you come away from what has served us well all season we will come unstuck.

If I am honest I actually felt we started the game really well & should and could have been 4-0 up in the first 20 mins!

Against a side like that you have to bury them, they came in and sat in & after they caught us with two really poor goals to concede in 5 mins lads they had something to hold on to and we really struggled to break them down.

I could speak about the game tactically but chaps I’ll be honest, with players missing & only have 12 available some of you playing looked absolutely out on your feet, cannot stress enough the importance of resting/recovering between games, some of us looked like we hadn’t stopped playing which I know for a large portion of the squad has been the case.

So many of us looked uncharacteristically lethargic & the lack of intensity all over the pitch is what cost us on Sunday.

We changed the shape to 3-5-2 early in the second half & I felt we looked more of a threat all be it we had none of our usual vigour and intensity as I said after the game boys, I am going to air on the side of rustiness/two weeks off, we won’t accept that lack of intensity again, we have plenty to play for still this season & it starts on Sunday for us.

Complacency for the remainder of the season will be nipped in the bud, but will need to be self policed, winning the final was wonderful for everyone connected to the club BUT that has well and truly gone now & we have to get back to business!

By no means a hammering lads, but a warning of what happens if we aren’t all at it collectively.

I’ll see everyone for training Friday for an important session ahead of the Danson game.
