Unique FC U13 1 vs 5 AFC Greenwich Borough

Afternoon Boys,

Please find attached my report from Sundays game.

Chaps a tough one to take on Sunday after starting the game so well, for 34 mins we dominated in every area of the pitch, defensively we won all of duels, in midfield we were neat & tidy as well as physically imposing ourselves & in forward areas we looked a real threat.

We deservedly took the lead through another neat finish from you Max, well done you have had a great start to life with us & I am looking forward to seeing your progression across the season & honestly chaps we looked like the more likely to add a second.

We conceded two very poor goals on the stroke of half time, I cannot stress how important it is that we stop giving silly fouls away, the refs in the KYL as you have all seen yourselves are poor, but we have to limit the opportunities we give them to blow the whistle, it’s becoming a running theme now of us conceding from free kicks both close & from deep areas so we really need to minimise the chances we give them to load balls in our box.

In the second half I felt we lost the intensity we had first half and they began to dominate in certain areas of the pitch, having said that we had chances to get back into the game and I felt had we got back to 3-2 we would have gone on to get back in the game in a similar fashion to the Lewisham game but we didn’t quite have the quality in the final third to unlock the door despite really good moments.

Chaps we are very close to getting things right given a couple of tweaks but as a group we must stick together & keep doing the right things, the tide will turn as long as we remain a unit.

We have a huge game against top of the league on Sunday & I expect a reaction.
