A game with mixed feelings. Playing against a team that sit 2nd in the league above us, we went into the game with little expectation.
The first minute and the referee gave a corner after it coming off of their player. The ref was clearly not a ref, but a coach from their team.
Three minutes in and they took the lead against the run of the game. After 12 minutes, they have doubled their lead. At this point, it looks like the team in the league above were going to go on to dominate the game. However, goals from Veera and Logan bring us back in equal at half time, 2-2.
The second half started brilliantly, with Noah putting us in the lead for the first time. At this point, we play a bit more defensive, until 57 minutes in and we get a red card. Now we have to go all out defensive, and switch Noah and Veera around.
3 minutes from time, they equalise with a goal that shouldn't have standed. Pushing in the box was not seen by the biased ref and the game was equal again.
A late push by Thame was seen off and it went to penalties.
Thame start off, and after a few shots, Totteridge were in the lead, however a couple of missed penalties ended with Thame winning 3-2.
A hard result to take. We played against 12 all game with the ref not being impartial, but the team should be very proud of themselves.
