Thrum Hall FC played their first ever game in the middle of nowhere, otherwise known as Todmorden.
Although the score line suggests a walk in the park for the home team, it was far from it. Thrum Hall looked strong and in control in the early moments, however, the home team took the lead.
In what would become a far too frequent occurrence in the first half, Woodhouse found their way through the Thrum Hall tackles far too easy.
Late in the game the gruelling training sessions the Thrum Hall squad had been put through began to show their benefit, as Thrum Hall remained full of stamina and running when their opponents were clearly running out of gas.
The honour of first ever goal scorer should have gone to striker Hemblys as he had one goal adjudged (wrongly) by the referee not to have crossed the line. So the actual honour goes to young Callum Bruce, at 17, and playing his first ever open age game produced the moment of the game. A sensational curling shot from outside the area found the far top corner.
All in all a good run out for Thrum Hall and will give the management plenty to think about and work on in the coming training sessions and friendlies.
