It was a cold and bright morning on Saville park as the mighty Thrum Hall welcomed North Bridge to the snake pit, looking to redeem themselves after a disappointing result against Triangle the previous week.

A number of changes had been made to the squad prior to kick-off, with key players robbo and gibby dropping out unexpectedly the night before, and left back Brad Holt still twitching in a kethole in some randomers cellar just outside of Huddersfield. In came angry man Lee and the majestic Henshaw, with King Cobra Coates slithering out to left back and Hembers filling in at centre back.

The game kicked off and Hall got off to their usual sluggish start, conceding early on after the ball bounced around the box and fell kindly to a North Bridge attacker who finished well past Tapend in the Thrum Hall goal.

Another upset looked to be on the cards as Hall could not seem to get themselves going with only a solid performance from the defence and some brilliant saves from Tapend - who finally managed to go a full game without completely fucking up at least once - keeping the snakes in the game.

The only chances in the first half fell to team talisman and all round superstar Jamie Casey, who unleashed a fierce volley destined for the top corner from 35 yards which stung the opposition keepers gloves, and was also denied by a magnificent save when played through by Henshaw after one of his trademark darting runs into the box.

The snakes went in at half time, deflated and a goal down, but a bollocking from Marcus and the introduction of Robbo fired them up and they began the second half well, peppering the north bridge goal with shots and constantly pressing for the equaliser.

The break through for Hall finally came from a set piece fired in by robbo which was half cleared by a Bridge defender and fell to the veteran Hembers, who pulled off a wonderful Rooney-like overhead into the far corner, surprising everybody. The look of shock on his face as he dragged his fragile old body back to the halfway line so the game could restart said it all. Brilliant goal. 1 all and game on.

The last 20 minutes were all Thrum Hall, and the decisive second goal came when Jay Clissit floated a corner to the far post which evaded everybody and landed in the far corner. Very very very lucky but the snakes did not care.

The 3rd and killer goal was again scored by Man of the Match clissit who was playing well and seemed to be performing better without his miserable bird glaring at him from the side lines. Again a very lucky goal as he was clearly aiming for Pep at the back post with a freekick from distance but his daft bright green boot struck the ball past the north bridge keeper and into the back of the net.

3-1 Thrum Hall. A hard fought victory and not the best of performances but the snakes slither on with another 3 points under their bellys!!
