Gleniffer Thistle 1 vs 3 Thorn 2011

Game today was a difficult park due to the length of the grass however it didn’t stop the boys from moving the ball around the way they can.

First half they dominated the ball but had only a few chances and limiting the opposition to one shot from distance which nearly went in. How we went in 0-0 at half time I have no clue.

2nd half the boys were asked to continue with their football but utilise the ball over the top more to get their defenders turning and get our pace out wide to cause them problems. Which allowed us a few great opportunities and we finally took 1 to make it 1-0.

Then a game changing moment when Dan got sent off for a 2nd yellow card with around 15mins to go. A quick reshuffle of the back 4 and went with 2 strikers as we knew Ryan and Riley’s pace could still cause them problems. We still controlled the game then Ryan makes it 2-0 and what we think is game over.

They manage to sneak a goal agaisnt the run of play which makes for a nervy last 5mins but Riley soon put an end to that with a wonderful striker from distance to make it 3-1. A well deserved win and comfortable performance.
