The Turf FC 0 vs 3 Bearpark Community FC

A solid first look out saw the lads taking on Bearpark Community FC. The ref blew the whistle and we started strong, but it didn't take long for the opponents to get on the attack, however, with a solid back four, we made it difficult to get past and dealt with all attacks comfortablely.

The first goal came from a lofted ball over the top, which Andy Gowland attempted to flick it back for the keeper. Unfortunately it didn't go that way and the attacker ran onto it and slipped the ball past the keeper.

The game continued and we appeared to be quite the threat in spells. But a second goal came after a bad free kick falling straight to the opposition, as they ran through and slotted it away for a second goal.

The ref blew the whistle for half time, and with some changes made, we started the half well, some great attacking opportunities with Jonny and Hubert bombing down both lines, getting some great crosses in for Rob up top, but nothing came.

We we unlucky not to score with a goal by Jonny getting called offside, despite being played on by the defender.

The final goal came from a great bit of play from the opposition, slipping the ball through the defence and popped into the bottom left.

An unlucky game where we had our chances and played well as a team, with clear improvements and a desire to win, simple mistakes cost the game, but however, it's only the first official friendly of the season.
