Tansley Juniors U8 3 vs 8 Buxton Juniors u8

Tansley had an early start for their first game of the season against a really tough opponent. That coupled with the fact that myself and the players thought they were starting with just FOUR players seemed to unsettle the team as Buxton got off to a flying start before our team got warmed up properly and began to get more into the game. Going 4-0 down early on, seemed to shock Tansley and they did really well to keep their heads up and begin to get more organised. I think this puts emphasis on ensuring we have the team warmed up and understanding tactics before we kick off. Fortunately, some brilliant saves by Liam and once Ben had settled into the game some brilliant tackling and we started to come into the game. Alfie got himself 3 good goals from being determined to chase down their defence and following the passes to him. As a whole, individually everyone had some good spells and played a part in getting back into the game, no bad performances, however, positionally not great. A difficult start to the season. Roll on the next few games.
