STARLANDS ST.ANNES U.16 GI 2 vs 1 BURTON ALBION

Well, the game finished not as we would want. Ellie and her cousin from Burton off to hospital after a nasty collision . Fingers crossed ok after head injuries game called off.
We wish Burton all the best with their League title and two finals !

As for the game.... We got revenge in some part for Burtons pre season beating.
Shows how much you have improved ... Yes we had Alex B guesting but we were missing some key players....
0-0 at half time - and I think Tia showed us again what she CAN DO ! Despite no goal showed effort, good hold up play and passing... And EFFORT ��
All the girls did well - with a very steady debut from Chloe H in a make shift back 4.
Alex B was off her line quick to clear danger and did very well.
Georgia had some nice runs and crosses as did Kiera. Amy and Chloe linking well .
Skye was looking assured in midfield - with a sliding tackle from Rhea that was brilliant !!
Stacey had the Captains armband and marshalled The back line.
Leah made some telling tackles as did Beth who was dominant when first to the ball ! ��
Olivia did really well in midfield and gave her all !.... At times it was the best football I have seen us play.
We did allow Burton time to pass around us on occasions ... But when we hustled and bustled and pressured they made mistakes.
2nd half we were not quite at the races... A soft goal from us pressurising them !?...
Olivia went in goal and we unleashed the BUCK !.... Just shows what a force we could be with just ONE player who is 1st to the ball !! I'm trying my best to persuade her to join for ONE season !!... But there is no reason ALL of our exisiting players could not do the same !! Just needs EFFORT and DETERMINATION.
Our equaliser came from a pass by BuCK to Tia who turned and shot on a six pence as she has all season ! 1-1 roof of the net !
Some nice edge of the box passing resulted in a winner from Alex ! ... And unfortunately we had to draw the game to a close due to the injuries.
A good game played by two nice teams.
