Stafford Town 0 vs 5 Stapenhill

Stapenhill striker Conner Richins took the plaudits after capitalising on a totally inept performance from the hosts from start to finish. The first half in particular was woeful with the fundamental basics of tight marking and communication lacking all over. It was like rabbits in the headlights as four goals in 15 minutes leading up to halftime effectively ended the competition.

Strong words at the break fell on deaf ears as it just two minutes into the restart and Richins was clean through for his and the games fifth. A combination of pride to prevent a cricket score along with Stapenhill probably taking their foot off the gas meant the game remained at 5-0.

A terrible first showing for a new look side at Evans Park who literally never got out of 1st gear. No time to overthink things however as the team travel to much fancied Uttoxeter Town this Tuesday 8th September. Things better be a heck of a lot better or it could well be another hiding.
