St Michaels F C     2              Babylon F C       0       Game played on 27/5/12

St Michaels started the 1st of the days Double Headers knowing that one point would be enough to clinch the League title in their 1st ever season. They started the game playing neat football and completely dominating their opposition. Nerves however were showing and they struggled in fgront of goal to get the all important 1st goal. This all changed in the 18th minute when a great flick fron Arran Amer set Adam Fahy up to score the opener which also put him as joint leading goal scorer for the season. St Michaels continued to push forward but at Half Time the score was 1-0.

The 2nd half started as the 1st with St Michaels on top and in the 44th minute a great through ball from Danny Baptiste found Aaron Hughes in the box who had no problem in finding the net and making it 2-0 to St Michaels. After scoring the goal Aaron Hughes was replaced by Dan Tarrant who was making his League debut after missing the whole of the season through a serious injury. With 5 minutes to go Lewis Butcher replaced Connor Reardon who had just received a slight knock. The game finished without further incident at 2-0 to St Michaels and with it their 1st League title.

A great first season for St Michaels Football Club. All the players and Management deserve tremendous credit to win the League and come Runners up in the Cup in their very first season.

Special mentions this week go to Aaron Hughes for another skilful performance in midfield, Dan Regan in defence and Adam Fahy who was a constant threat to the Babylon defence. Man of the Match however goes to Captain Sam Meade who drove the team to this vital victory and who will be sorely missed next season if he gives up playing Sunday football for the alcoholic haze that will be Southampton University.
