A true game of two halves - Sporting Weston F.C. dominated the first half of this fixture against Uphill Castle F.C. completely. The team created a host of chances and limited their opposition to tame efforts at goal. Diego Santamaria-Briz & Luke Kershaw put Sporting Weston F.C. 2-0 up. Grant Morris rattled the cross bar with a tremendous volley after a great team move. The pitch may have offered a reason for poor finishing during one-on-ones but Sporting Weston F.C. should have won the game by half time as such was the team's dominance.
The second half was a completely different story - Sporting Weston F.C. stopped doing all that was good in the first half. A penalty awarded to Uphill Castle F.C. for absolutely no reason didn't help but the truth is the team should have beaten their opposition. However, Sporting Weston F.C. dug in under huge pressure and ensured that they did not lose the game.
A strong debut by Adam Larson and there were great performances from Sam Nicholas, Sam Cooper Craig Starrett, Diego Santamaria-Briz & Luke Kershaw. MotM went to the dependable & consistent Gary Booth.
