The Colts put in another professional performance today against a very strong Mickleover side.
Crowder opened the scoring the Colts on 2 minutes, racing onto a perfect pass from Lowe and firing it past the keeper into the corner. Mickleover were level 8 minutes later, the Colts defence falling asleep. Bate managed to save the first attempt but when the ball was squared back across, the striker got his toe on the end of it.
The Colts then seemed to struggle against Mickloever, who used the wind to their advantage. 1-1 at half time.
In the second half, the Colts took the lead. Vardy took a free kick on the touchline, everyone missed it and it ended up in the net. Hunt added a third hammering home after determined work by Hardy. Mickleover again scored with the defence missing their tackles and the match still had half an hour to go.
It was fairly even after that, Mickleover would come forward but the defence was strong. Booth putting in some brilliant tackles, Hamisis getting stronger as the gamewent on. The Colts then hit the post and had two cleared off the line (which seemed to get stuck in the mud). Bate saving a golden chance late on.
