A hard fought game this morning as the points were shared away to Belmont.
Sacriston started the better team and created some good opportunities but it was Belmont who took the lead on the counter attack when their striker was played in behind the defence and finished calmly. Sacriston felt the goal was offside but the referee waved away the protests.
The game was fairly even throughout and midway through the second half Sacriston got a deserved equaliser following some great footwork by David Winter and his cross to the back post was headed home by Luke Wilson.
Both teams pushed for a winner and had chances in the closing stages with George Daglish coming close to finding a winner for Sacriston but his strike was tipped onto the crossbar by the keeper. Ultimately a draw was a fair result in the end.
There was still time for a bit of late drama as gaffer Chris Mordue was given his marching orders by the referee for arguing over one of the many strange decisions that were made today.
Man of the match went to Luke Wilson who continues his good run of form.
