Roach Dynamos U16 Whites 1 vs 2 Ramsbottom United Juniors

Today, Roach U16 Whites faced a team who they'd beaten pre-season but the warning came before the game, not to underestimate any opponent. We asked the lads to go out and start strong again continuing on from last week's win. Rammy Rangers were a big physical team though and that led to a scrappy first half with chances at each end, but most of the play in a congested middle of the pitch. A small lapse in concentration let the visitors in for the opening goal on 34 minutes.

At half time, we stressed to the lads how much space was available out wide and to try and use the ball better.

The second half began brighter but then against the run of play, Roach Whites gave away the ball again and it resulted in a second Rammy goal. The lads heads didn't drop and if anything, after that it was all one-way traffic. Logan pulled back a strikers goal in the 61st minute and the last 20 were dominated by Roach Whites but unfortunately an equaliser never came.

Man of the match went to Riley for a good energetic performance down the right.
