With injuries and holidays ravaging the ranks, it left only 6 for a must win game.

A win here would cement second spot with a game to spare and The Revs had already felt the pressure of top spot a few weeks back.

The opposition came armed with two subs, one of them new and in warm up looked reasonably handy (spoiler: he wasn't). The problem with The Impossible Dreamers though, is you just don't know which version of them would turn up after a mixed bag or results this season.

The Revs needn't have worried though as the team soon took control and produced an efficient, smooth performance of pure liquid football at times.

Every man played their part, stuck to their job, created space and allowed the opposition nothing of merit.

So it wasn't long before The Revs got on the score sheet with lovely interplay from Allen leading to the opener from Lewis Evans - who was even taken out as he finished off. Naughty.

Minutes later Allen earned himself a goal also after a one two with James Evans put him in.

It just started raining goals as Lewis Evans bagged his second and it was quickly followed by a great team goal cutting through the opposition and Lewis Evans playing in big brother to finish.

4-0 at half time and the general consensus was the opposition do not score!

Tyman and Lewis Evans were on board with that and cut everything out whether it came through land or air. Tyman really relishing the battle in midfield and allowing himself to join up field.

It was Tyman's foray up front that led to goal 5, but it was a wonderful cross by Lewis Evans that caused the panic and Tyman's wayward shot pinging in off a defender for an own goal.

Tyman soon got just rewards though and found himself on the end of an Allen clearance and as a result sat the keeper on his backside and slotted home.

There were plenty of other opportunities too with James Evans beating the keeper but having his goal bound effort cleared off the line.

The forward play was superb to watch but equally the effort from the back, starting most attacks, was special from Pinkstone and Myers. Phil offering runs down the flanks to support and allow others a breather was a real positive, quickly followed by the words "Jamie, swap". Myers also looking comfortable on the ball, even with dodgy passes from his captain.

Overall it was a solid and spectacular display of attacking football that hammers home just how good this team has been this season.

The Misfits may win the title, but The Revs have made them work for it! And there is plenty to be proud of!

One last effort to go.
