Battlebridge made a return to the league this year and we resumed normal service by dispatching them 5-2. We started quickly with some great pressure leading to 2 very quick Alex Smith goals after finishing well 1 on 1 and we were 2-0 up within 5 minutes. Josh then had an attempt cleared off the line in the 12th minute before it went quiet for a while. We made it 3 just after the half hour mark when debutant Raza played a through ball which found Smithy for his hat trick. Alex nearly made it 4 minutes later when his free kick was kept out by the keepers face in the bottom left corner.

We then piled on the presure with Jack and Josh Carroll both going close and Raz hit one straight at the keeper late on but we went in a comfortable 3-0 up.

Chucky made way for Damo on the half and it didn't take long for us to make it 4 on the 52nd minute when Woodman found Smith who comfortably finished for his 4th. They got back into it with a goal straight after when they managed to bundle it in from close range. JC and Raza then made way for Saunders and Gillett and Billy made the instant impact when his wayward shot found Lewis in the box who turned and fired a shot that nearly took the keepers head off as it powered into the net. 5-1 should have been 6 five minutes later when Gillett was gifted the penalty by the captain which he fired straight at the keeper. Woodman then went close with a scorcher and Gillett had a shot blocked before Paulie hit the bar from a corner. They got a 2nd with 15 to go when they found a header from a corner but we'd done the job. Paul had a decent strike saved late on and Driver came back on for the injured Josh Carroll but we saw the game out well. Matt Lewis got man of the match for a storming performance at the back and bagging a 2nd goal in 3 games.
