RAF Linton on Ouse 1 vs 5 4 Regt RA

A difficult start to the season for the new look RAF Linton lads. Having been thrown together and not played together before it was always going to be a challenge to adapt and gel as a team. Two early goals didn't help matters as two long balls caught out Jones and Wilkes allowing the 4 Reg RA striker through 1 on 1. Linton done well to keep it to 2-0 at half time largely thanks to Algar in goal pulling off a number of saves.

Stiles replaced Brocklesby at half time and the change seemed to bring new life into Linton with calm possession football overtaking the long ball tactic adopted in the first 45 mins. Stiles almost made an immediate impact very narrowly failing to get on the end of a deep Preston cross. Linton were punished however for not taking their chances as on the 70 minute mark 4 Reg RA capitalised on slack marking from a set piece to take a 3-0 lead despite the best efforts from Belly on the goal line.

Linton did pull a goal back through Weston as his run and dribble was rewarded with a deflected shot into the bottom right hand corner. As Linton pushed on further to get back into the game they were caught twice on the counter attack leaving Algar exposed at the back and taking the score to 5-1 to the visitors. A score line which certainly flattered them.
