Cradley Town DC U12 South 5 vs 0 PS Olympic U12 South

This week's game was all about growing in certain aspects of our game, having seen where we can improve, work on it in training then execute in the match.

We highlighted after last week game that Cradley are not head and shoulders ahead of us, they do certain things better than us, namely winning the 1st and 2nd ball, so working on making that ball ours and upping our physicality.

We really saw this today, which is testament to the boys, having only worked on this once.

Some great individual displays and we were threatening in attack but got muscled out a few times.

The goals we conceded were mostly from counters, where we didn't win the ball higher up the pitch and a long range shot where the boys were getting tired, no shame in that.

It was good to see us go all out till the final whistle and put some big challenges in, no problem with giving fouls away, in fact we'd prefer it, as long as they are going for the ball.

Competing with teams that should be 2 leagues above us will only help us moving forward.

Overall the last couple of games have been a good learning experience, especially when it comes to strength on the ball. 5-0 flattered Cradley but we have a big chance next week to get a result that our performances deserve.

I'm still working on getting a few more players in, should have someone coming on Tuesday.
