Pro Shottas Senior welcomed Pinelands to Passage Road on 3 June 2026 for a league neutral match kicking off at 7:10pm. The 11-a-side contest ended with Pro Shottas Senior triumphing 2-0 after a disciplined and determined display.

Deploying a 4-2-3-1 formation, Pro Shottas Senior lined up with Nashton Browne in goal, shielded by a back four comprising Keshawn Thomas at right back, Romelle Burgess and Jenard Satney as central defenders, and Nathan Blackman on the left. The midfield double pivot featured Zavion Nurse and Ronan Lee tasked with controlling the centre of the park and linking defence to attack. Ahead of them, the attacking midfield trio consisted of Teondre Hinkson on the right, Shakir Harewood centrally as the attacking midfielder, and Ackeem Holder on the left, supporting lone striker Xaveir Webster. This setup was expected to provide defensive solidity while allowing creative freedom for the attacking midfielders to supply the striker. On the bench were substitutes Kobe Burgess, Ishaem Ellis, Shavid Maynard, Luke St.John, and Korey Reid.

From the outset, Nashton Browne was alert, making an early catch in the first minute to quell any immediate threat. The match quickly became physical, with Shakir Harewood committing a late tackle in the second minute, signalling a fiercely contested encounter. Browne was again called into action shortly after, confidently catching a cross to keep Pro Shottas Senior on level terms.

The game’s intensity continued with fouls disrupting rhythm; Teondre Hinkson was penalised for a handball in the 10th minute, while Nathan Blackman also conceded a handball foul seven minutes later. Despite these interruptions, Pro Shottas Senior sought to assert themselves going forward. Hinkson tested the opposition goal with a wide effort in the 14th minute, and Harewood followed with a shot saved by the Pinelands keeper at 18 minutes. However, an offside call denied striker Xaveir Webster a promising chance at 19 minutes, thanks to good defensive positioning by Pinelands.

The physicality remained high as Webster was penalised for a push in the 22nd minute. Attempts continued but lacked precision, with Webster firing over the bar at 27 minutes and Ronan Lee doing likewise two minutes later. The breakthrough came in the 37th minute when Shakir Harewood calmly converted a penalty with his right foot, giving Pro Shottas Senior a deserved lead. The penalty was awarded following a foul on Harewood, and his composed finish put his side in control heading towards half time.

Ackeem Holder’s aggressive style was evident with a high tackle on the cusp of the break at 43 minutes, but the half concluded with Pro Shottas Senior maintaining their 1-0 advantage.

The second half saw Pro Shottas Senior continue to press, with Hinkson again shooting wide early on at 50 minutes. Holder was caught offside at 52 minutes, demonstrating Pinelands’ defensive alertness. Webster’s attempts at goal remained frustratingly off target, including a wide effort at 53 minutes.

Substitutions began to shape the latter stages of the match. Kobe Burgess replaced Harewood in the 56th minute, followed swiftly by Ishaem Ellis coming on for Webster at 65 minutes. Ellis’s introduction added fresh impetus but he was soon booked for holding an opponent in the 66th minute. Pro Shottas Senior’s attacking threat was maintained with Keshawn Thomas and Zavion Nurse both testing the goalkeeper with saved attempts in quick succession at 66 and 67 minutes respectively.

Kobe Burgess was penalised for a charge in the 69th minute, and further changes saw Shavid Maynard replace Keshawn Thomas at right back in the 73rd minute. The physical nature of the contest persisted, with Ronan Lee and Ackeem Holder both committing fouls in the mid-70s, Holder again guilty of a high tackle at 76 minutes.

Pro Shottas Senior came close to doubling their lead when Holder’s shot went wide at 78 minutes and Hinkson hit the post a minute later, agonisingly close to scoring. Ellis was involved in another foul at 81 minutes, pushing an opponent, and shortly after, Ronan Lee’s effort was saved.

Ellis’s persistent fouling earned him a yellow card for a bad tackle in the 85th minute, while Lee was penalised for handball a minute later. Browne remained alert in goal, making a crucial catch at 87 minutes to deny Pinelands any hope of a comeback.

The match was effectively sealed in the 88th minute when Ishaem Ellis scored from inside the box with a right-footed strike following a clever short pass from Kobe Burgess. This goal doubled Pro Shottas Senior’s lead and put the result beyond doubt. The final moments saw further substitutions with Luke St.John replacing Hinkson and Korey Reid coming on for Holder in quick succession.

Pinelands pressed late on but Nathan Blackman’s late tackle in stoppage time was a reminder of the match’s physical edge. Ultimately, Pro Shottas Senior held firm to secure a 2-0 victory, a result that reflected their control and clinical finishing on the night.
