Another good run out today after yesterdays game. Their manager panicked me at 9:45 calling me to say the pitch had been double booked ???????

It was definately a game of two different halves for us, we were positive in our play in the first. Our structure looked good and we looked a threat. Newton LWs long ball and aggressive press was intended to break our high line and I thought we dealt with the threat well. We were caught for their opening goal, guilty of pressing to high on the right but that’s part of the learning process playing with wing backs. Coming in at half time

0-1 was a reflection of the competitive play from both teams. The second half was very different, I chose to rotate some players into different positions and that, with a combination of a drop off in our intensity and passing play was our undoing. Their third goal was a gift from the lucky book but ultimately our play wasn’t up to level and resorting to long balls and trying to dribble through the opposition is not what we are working to achieve. So, we take the positive and negative learnings from this one and pick things back up in training on Wednesday.
