Standish Panthers Juniors 2 vs 2 Prestwich FC Thunder

A fantastic game this morning and a proper Cup tie ????

It was clear from the get go that the lads were up for this one, eyes focused in the warm up said it all ?? They started superbly, controlled possession, hunting out of it and using the flanks really well. It wasn’t long before the hard work paid off, JJ in a great position to score following a great effort from Max. Standish crept back into it with some good passing links of their own and unfortunately and totally against the run of play we found ourselves 2-1 down after some of indecision in and around the box. For the remainder of the half the lads worked hard to wrestle back control. We spoke at half time for the need to stay confident, keep building plays and to use the wings and, the lads did exactly that. They continued to fight for every ball and in the end the hard work paid of as Ben delivered a great ball into box from the wide left and their was Max to calmly place the ball in for 2-2. We had chances to pinch it at the end but onto Pens we went. Each and everyone of our takers and those waiting took the responsibility head on, they didn’t shy out all all. Luke was also cool headed in making those vital saves which saw us over line and into the hat for the next round. MOTM -
