Prestwich FC Thunder 2 vs 4 Droylsden Juniors FC Preda

R3 of the league trilogy this morning against Droylsden. It was never going to be an easy one for the lads today but they gave it absolutely everything and once again played the better of the football but without the end result. We talked about the need to press hard and not give them time and space on the ball, their first goal inside 3 minutes was soft from us but as the lads do they found a way back in and dominated the first half, creating chances, hitting the woodwork and were really unlucky to concede again just before half time. In the second half we just didn’t have enough gas with a number of players having given everything in the first period. Despite the drop in energy, the commitment levels were there and we still created plenty of opportunities, we were unlucky not to score more, once again hitting the woodwork. Despite the defeat we are really proud of the effort levels, fight and teamwork put in by all of them. MOTM - Luca, a great performance between the sticks, some super saves and kicking from ground and hands was awesome ???? Special mention for Alfie too who was prepared and ready to play his part in net too if needed. Unlucky Thunder ??????????????
