The boys couldn't of wished for a tougher test in this first round Stubbings Cup fixture.
The game kicked off and the heavens opened. Our boys did well and quickly looked to dictate posesion playing some nice stuff at times without really creating any big opportunities of note.
The first half ended with Balcombe hitting the post but with the away team still in the accendency.
The royals introduced Webb at half time and he immediately went close getting in behind only to see his attempt go wide.
The boys were now starting to find spaces and finally broke the deadlock after 65 mins with a lovely improvised finish from top goalscorer Trotter following a corner and some good work from Arnold to keep the ball alive.
Balcombe went close soon after but Zaikevics did well to save with his feet.
Balcombe got their equaliser following a shot from distance (86) and then went on to grab the winner deep into injury time with a headed finish to send our boys out of the competition at the first hurdle.
