Cradley Town D C U11 South 9 vs 2 P S Olympic U11 South

A very tough match to review and one where the scoreline didn't reflect the quality of our team.

Firstly, the formation we selected was based on the league above, but against teams that clump together leaves too much open space and left us open to the counter. Once we swapped it round it was a much more even game, one that could have been 10-10.

Everything went against us, every sliced shot they had went in, every time we shot it went straight at the keeper, hit the post or went wide. Issues with their linesman trying to ref the game also didn't help.

There was one major difference between the teams however, and that was the determination to follow up the ball. They had players who followed up each shot, where we were caught watching. Something we'll focus on in training, as it's been an issue we have faced before.

Overall, well done to the boys, they kept going but it just didn't go our way. First game back after a big break, new formation and a tough pitch to play on all contributed to it but a big chance to come back next week.
