AFC Gornal U11 North 1 vs 8 P S Olympic U11 South

By far our best performance of the season so far.

The passing throughout was excellent, really shows that the work in training is starting to pay off. The boys understanding of making the ball do the work is really coming along. Saying that, we also mixed it up well, making direct runs and pressing Gornal throughout.

In front of goal we were also excellent, scoring a wide range of finishes. A couple from crosses, a couple of tap ins, some long range shots and even a volley to cap it off.

At the back we were calm and switched on which gave the midfield a base to start the attacks.

Finally, the support the players offered each other was really good. Multiple positive messages that raised individuals up, helping them enjoy and play better football. Let's make sure this continues against stronger opposition in more difficult circumstances.

We have multiple teams in this league that will be moved up later in the season, shouldn't have been put here in the first place really, but the performances against these sides have been gutsy and competitive. While the results have not gone our way we have been forced to step up to play at a higher standard, but because of this we will get our rewards, as today's result exemplifies.
