NW Phantoms 4 vs 0 yateley leopards

Reality of that first half were that Yateley went for an incredibly

high defensive line that resulted in them to being attacked straight

through the middle provided the Phantoms could stay on side. There

were probably 6 offsides but with a different linesman a few more than

that. Route 1 football, a case of who wins the race. From coaching

perspective the interest areas were whether we could get players

coming from deep and if we could solve the high line. We had a couple

of deep runs from experienced players in midfield, but little else.

Halftime and we changed our plans.

Second half was scrappy as the boys lacked composure, with tendency to

play straight and forward. Some of the decision making was

questionable. We did also try out players in different positions given

the scoreline. Nevertheless there were chances second half that were

not taken, some perhaps due to a lack of real desire and others as a

result of poor technique to protect the ball. Well done to Yatelely, who after a poor start, dug in and then started to play some good football.
