Rushmoor Hawks 0 vs 2 NW Phantoms

Phantoms had been showing some good form ,but this was a big test against the high flying hawks.

Hawks started brightly and showed their class with some terrific passing, switching play with ease as they committed majority ofplayers forward.

Hawks looked particularly dangerous in the wideareas where they were often 1 v 1, so we needed to deal with ballscrossed into box which we did.

Phantoms put in a very disciplined defensive first half, with possession stats high in Hawks favour.

Phantoms had a couple of good opportunities themselves, a shot insid ethe box and a great cross that needed a touch to go in...

Second half, Hawks whilst dangerous were more predictable in theirpoint of attack.

They had two very good chances, one a good save from RE and the other a difficult finish from a few yards out.

With 17 mins left phantoms won possession on edge ofour box, 2 passes later including an early pass from ON and phantoms had scored the opening goal.

Not long after a second goal,this time winning the ball higher up the pitch but with a similar outcome from the pacy but more importantly highly committed JRI

Ten minutes left and time for Phantoms to see the game out.

Couple of last gasp tackles required but team were now more a team than ever before and they were not planning to concede.
