hook youth 2 vs 2 NW Phantoms

High winds, boggy soggy pitch and driving rain - wow lets play and
watch football.

In the first half we were playing into a very strong wind. Phantoms
had a few good chances to score, goalmouth scramble, as well as a goal
scored but disallowed and a surprising penalty miss (RD first ever
miss in a game). Hook Youth playing the territory game, particularly
long throws trying to win corners. Against run of play Hook scored
from a freekick, a fair shot, but not one that should ever have gone
in..Second half we started very brightly, playing with the now less
relenting wind. Sadly, a poor tackle left EH injured and out
of the game, taken off to hospital for scans..
The ensuing freekick was beautifully struck by GW to level the
game. Only one team in it with a question of when we'd score our next
goal. However a defensive mixup between defender and keeper allowed a
soft goal for Hook. Credit to Hook for that character they clearly
have and ability to score when they are up against it.

As we pushed on for the equaliser we were a little vulnerable to the
counter. Finally with a couple of mins left Phantoms managed to get
the equaliser, another scramble in the penalty area with RD the
quickest to pounce and throw a knee at the ball to equalise.
Final score 2 v 2. Good response at the end of the game. Both teams shaking hands and being respectful. Really pleasing to see.
