Hart Sharks 0 vs 3 NW Phantoms

Lovely morning, lovely pitch for our friendly against fellow prem team hart sharks in an agreed 3 by 25 mins game. Most of our players had played Thursday, with 4 having their first match of the season. This was the first game for our new player JB

After a dodgy first couple of minutes phantoms found their feet. Out of possession we looked compact with the wingers dropping in to protect fullbacks. In possession the passing was good, so much of it futsal like in its simplicity. Deserved first goal came after good combo play released the right winger making a driving run before a stunning shot went into the top corner. A second goal looked almost certain after some really persistent play but the defender tracking back cleared the ball off the line.

In second third after a number of offsides they got through. Ball was in hart possession in their own box, where we won the ball again and a clever set from the midfielder was calmly finished by the new signing who curled it left footed into the goal. By this stage Hart were playing longer balls as they couldn't play through the middle. These 40 yard balls were a surprising threat so we need to work on that.

2-0 after two thirds, the message was to keep that ball moving as Hart were clearly tired from a lack of possession. Final third started poorly, looking passive and not keeping possession with too many touches when we needed to move the ball. Third came towards the end, with a couple of half chances either side. Hart looked dangerous down their right wing as well as corners and we were fortunate to not concede.
