Bilston Town Community Foo 1 vs 2 Nuneaton Borough

Great game, great performance and great result. Well done to all the lads for the effort and hard work they put in on Saturday. Bilston were a physical team and played a lot of long balls and we coped brilliantly with everything they chucked at us.

It turned into a very scrappy game but I thought we played far better football from start to finish than Bilston. Aiden opened the scoring with an assist from Tommy. We knew the second half Bilston were going to come at us early doors and they equalised from a corner. We asked the lads to try and keep the ball out of the middle and get the ball out wide and that’s exactly how we scored our second and the match winner. We managed to get Brooklyn in behind and with a great finish scored from a lovely through ball from Charlie.

Man of the match well what can I say about George Downing as he collected another medal this week. Another very dominate display in midfield this time as he was the worthy winner two weeks in a row. He really has made a difference since he joined us. His tackling and passing was excellent and he covered every blade of grass on the pitch. Well done George.

The mens team play Bilston Wednesday so let’s hope they can come home with the 3 points too.
