New Rovers 1 vs 0 GLASGOW AFGHANS

Important points against top of the league Glasgow Afghans United at Holm Park, particularly satisfying considering the number of new faces - and positional changes - involved.

With a 4-5-1 formation, Rovers looked defensively solid throughout, with the Back 4 of Nabil Al Humaidi, Johnny Greenwood, Ezekiel Okoro - up from London for the weekend - and Michael Semirimu outstanding. With the goalkeepers playing a half each, the defence deserved a clean sheet against opponents who had scored 17 times in their last two games!

A highly committed midfield also made an important contribution- with ANDREA EKUASE combining with the hard-working lone striker Ousmane Cisse to score the only goal of the game midway through the first half.

Three Yemeni trialists did well after the interval, all showing decent levels of ability and commitment.

Both keepers made some saves but Rovers were never under any great pressure and, in fact, could well have made their lead more comfortable at times in the second half.

Excellent three points making it nine points out of nine.
