Stoke 3-0 Telford

An old cliche but very much a game of two halves. We were very slow out of the blocks in the first half and spent a lot of time in our own half. Story of the first half was the heroics from Dave in goal. Numerous top saves and command of his area meant we kept the score at 0-0, and in typical clinical fashion Lee took one of the few first half chances we had to see us into half time at 1-0.

Second half started off a little better than the first though we still struggled to get on the ball as well as weve come to expect. After a bit of discussion we moved to five across the middle and finally we started to look like the Stoke side weve come to expect. Two more well taken goals came from Brownie and Stu which saw us into a 3-0 lead and we could have had more, the most notable effort from George which rattled the post.

Telford always looked dangerous going forward but the defence held out to secure our first clean sheet and a scoreline that suggested the game was more comfortable than it was.

MOTM undoubtedly has to go Dave Hulme, who's heroics in the first half kept us in the game.

Honourable mention goes to Sam at the back who consistently cleaned up, and Dave Simcock who ran the midfield and put his body in front of everything (resulting in a trip up the hospital).

Well played boys, we remain unbeaten and it's down to the efforts of everyone involved. Proper battling performance today ????
