Clare Town Lions 1 vs 11 Moreton Hall Raiders

Another goal fest this morning which also included our first goal conceded! Personally I’m delighted to get it out of the way and in a game where we were so dominant.

We thought today would be similar to last week against Needham, and actually although the score line was similar we had over 46 shots on goal! Clare also added two extra players for the second half which made it very difficult to find space.

Today we worked on the defence dropping deeper to give our midfield more room to operate, and a larger emphasis on the defenders getting into attacking areas.

The pitch was ghastly, with long grass, areas of sand and bumps a plenty! It 100% effected our free flowing football and it was great for the lads to find solutions for the playing surface. Our keeper Zach’s distribution was once again different class. His assist with a ball over the top for Finn to run through and lob the keeper was the play of the game.

Special mentions for Finbos new hair cut (and 4 goals) and a hatrick from Finn.

Next up…. bulldogs. I think it’s about time someone put down these mutts ;)
