Bridport Youth U16 Girls 1 vs 0 Merley Cobham Sports Youth

A League Cup trip to Bridport Girls started really well and the girls were passing the ball around nicely, playing some good football. The quality of our play then dropped and that allowed Bridport to take the lead with a long range shot from the edge of the box. The introduction of Ruby T and Willow generated some much needed energy and Grace had a good chance to put us level but shot a bit too early.

The second have started much better and the girls were determined to put their first have performance behind them. Chances were being created and Grace got on the end of a corner from Abi but her header hit the post and rebounded into the goalkeeper’s hands. The Bridport keeper was having a good game and their defence were not letting us get back into the game. Abi hit a superb long range free kick that hit the bar and bounced down on the line! At this point it seemed like it wasn’t going to be our day. Further chances were created but we just couldn’t score and send the game to extra time.
