Dendy move up into second place on goal difference after a second consecutive clean sheet for Paul Cronshaw’s team. How Poynton failed to find the net in an entertaining match  remains a mystery  but  stiker Sam Marshall  was guilty twice when he really ought to have scored .  First Dendy’s  Matty Martin denied him a certain goal from a yard out  with a remarkable last ditch  tackle and secondly Rob Tilley saved his well struck penalty . In the meantime Dendy went about their business opening up a 2-0 half time lead thanks to an og with an assist from Chris Scarle and a great strike from centre half Nick Brunker.

An astonishing last ditch tackle by Dendy's Matty Martin on poynton's Sam Marshall saved a certain goal

The game turned on Marshall’s miss  in the second half as Dendy scored twice  in seven  minutes and man of the match Martin Brunker was at the heart of it. He had already seen a shot crash off the underside of the bar in the first half  but he did it again with a well sighted free kick on 58 minutes and chief predator Matty Morris was first to react tapping home as the ball pinged off the bar in front of him . Brunker then scored the goal of the game teeing the ball up from twelve yards and scoring with an unstoppable bicycle kick. James Curbishley inflicted further misery on the hosts with four minutes to go as his goal bound shot took a deflection and gave Leigh Waterman no chance in the Poynton goal.
