High Lane built on their victory against Flyers with a 4-2 win at Mary Dendy which leaves the Dendy boys without a league victory since the beginning of October when they won 4-2 away at Nomads. Dendy startedbrightly with Adam Taylor opening his account after only three minutes with a swift counter attack but led by James Williamson and Danny WyattHigh Lane always looked the more likely to score and fifteen minutes in persistence paid off as Dean Whittaker scored the equaliser. Mid way through the half Lane took the lead when Wyatt’s shot was blocked on the edge of the area by Ian Wood and the ball ran square to Williamson who powered a shot past Mat Robinson. With only one goal between the teams at the break the next goal was always going to be crucial but Dendy made matters so much harder for themselves when keeper Mat Robinson was given a straight red after a moment of madness when after gathering the ball he appeared to be kicked unnecessarily by a High Lane playerand voiced his dismay towards referee Derek Scott when a free kick wasn’t awarded.

James Williamson makes it 2-1 to High Lane

Chris Shepherd came on to replace him in goalwith Dan Vickers giving way outfield . The extra man told and ten minutes later the hard working Whittaker made it 3-1 with his second of the match. The introduction of James Monaghan from the subs bench sparked Dendy into lifeand it was his driving run that set up Ryan Fallon to side foot home from twelve yardsbut it was stand inkeeper Chris Shepherd who also gave them confidence pulling off a string of fine saves to ensure High Lane didn’t extend their lead . Dendy pressed for an equaliser but to add to their woes High Lane substitute Jak Gorrie tapped home from a yard out three minutes into time added on to make the final score 4-2. For High Lane , its onward and upwardand now with a settled team including promising young keeper Ben Hall , just turned eighteen they should have a fine run in .
