Marshall's Barkhill 3 vs 2 Rosemont U12 Wanderers

Our first league game 'proper' started with a strong, confident start from our Barkhill boys, but we fell behind to a soft goal from a corner. However, our boys stuck to our footballing philosophy and we equalised just before half time through a well taken slot from Ben C after an excellent run and shot by Elijah.

Our footy continued in the second half and we went ahead with a beautiful Ronnie Whelan-esque curler from the edge of the box into the top corner from an increasingly confident Elijah. A superb goal ????

We continued to dominate play but Rosemont had their chances and we were made to pay again 2 minutes from time with an equaliser from another poorly defended corner.

But the boys grabbed the ball, raced to the centre spot to restart. A mazy run from Jacob led to a few nibbles from the Rosemont defenders, which eventually led to a foul in the box and a penalty being awarded. Ben C confidently stepped up to smash home the winner ??

The ref blew the whistle immediately after Rosemont kicked off and the Barkhill boys left the pitch with a deserved victory and more importantly, a victory for football ??????????
