MATCH REPORT BY COACH DAVE

Today's game was against opponents we knew were a good side with one main danger man who ran from deep. We tweaked our formation to suit, with Nathan dropping into the holding role.

We struggled to get into the game the first 10 minutes and Lazio took the lead. But that seemed to have a positive effect on our boys and we quickly responded with an absolute belter strike into the top corner from the opposite edge of the box from Elijah. That lad has scored some goals for us but that has to be up there with the best ????

Then superb tenacity by James down the right from right back, pressing, winning the ball and delivering a superb cross for Harry to slot in at the far post. This was closely followed by a lovely short range finish from Ben C.

3-1 to Barkhill at half time.

Second half, Lazio went long and we struggled a bit. Never really got hold of the ball and dictated play to our advantage. Lazio scored 3 goals and the game ended in an undeserved (in my opinion) 4-3 loss.

As always, many positives to take and be proud of but also things for us all to learn from, including me, Al and Gary.

Lazio coach said after the game it's the best match they've had all season.

Hopefully one of those games where we learn more from defeat than victory.
