Once again the Casuals met the Braves and high hopes were held after the last meeting where a ref inspired collapse took place. Reserve players Danny Jonas, Jack Morris and Jason King were drafted in due to a lengthening injury list.
It was Braves who scored first through nemesis Michel Hausman however that did not deter the Marist side one little bit. They fought back, batted away and knocked on the door and finally it answered with a goal from distance from Paulk Miller. And a deserved one it was too for the bubbly midfield geezer.
Casuals continues to press in the second half but the season has been a long and winding road and the door it led to was two late Braves goals which settled the tie for the Rivercity boys.
No shame here for the Casuals. A top effort and they must look forward to the last game of the season with some confidence.
