Malahide Utd U14 6 vs 2 Railway Union FC

Our DDSL league got underway today with a home win VS Railway Union.

Malahide were on the front foot from the first whistle and settled into the game straight away. The lads were passing the ball with composure and at speed. The opposition could not cope with us for the first 25 mins of the game by which time we were 2-0 in front with goals from Larry & Toby.

Railway Union started to press a bit higher up the pitch and got themselves back into the game on the 30 min mark when they were awarded a penalty (scored). Toby got his second goal just before the half time whistle to make it 3-1 at half time.

Second half started much like the first and we moved the ball around nicely. Cillian got himself on the score sheet when Oliver played a long ball over the Railway defence. Cillian was able to get on the end of it, round the keeper, to slot home for his first of the season. A few mins after the restart, Railway managed to grab another goal but the game was put to bed 10 mins later when Toby drove past the defence to score his hat-trick. Luke Collins bagged himself the last goal of the game when he cut inside from the right, took on 3 players and bent a shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the 18 yard box.

Matty didn't have too much to do in goal today but his kicking from his hands were on point and started alot of our attacks today.
