Maidstone United KYL U14 travelled to Gresham Sports Ground Pitch 2 on 12 April 2026 for a 12:30pm kick-off in a league away fixture against Fisher Piranhas U14, delivering a commanding 7-0 victory in a thoroughly one-sided 70-minute encounter. From the outset, Maidstone United imposed their authority, leaving the hosts unable to muster any meaningful response.
Maidstone United lined up in a 4-1-2-3 formation, deploying Harvey Rostron in goal behind a back four consisting of Liam Rich at right back, Danny Lowe and Captain Eddie Ambrose as central defenders, and Max Carney on the left. Tosan Okomi operated as the holding central midfielder, tasked with shielding the defence and distributing the ball forward. Ahead of him, Tank Evans occupied the right attacking midfield role, while Bernie Farley took up the left attacking midfield position, both expected to support the front three. The attacking trio featured Zane Clements on the right wing, Zaph Kouassi as the central striker, and Sawyer Booth on the left wing, all charged with stretching the opposition defence and converting chances. On the bench were Ollie Higginson, Blake Vince, Bertie Hayward, and Harrison Smith, ready to inject fresh legs as the match progressed. Rylee Rodger’s is away on holiday and Tommy Monaghan is in Barcelona representing his academy at a tournament. We look forward to seeing them return at the next fixture.
The match began with Maidstone showing defensive solidity, Max Carney clearing early danger in the first minute. The defence remained alert as Zane Clements headed clear a threat in the second minute, while goalkeeper Harvey Rostron was quick to clear the ball under pressure. Danny Lowe contributed with a crucial block and clearance moments later, and Tank Evans made an important tackle to disrupt the Piranhas’ early advances. Rostron’s safe hands were on display with a confident catch in the third minute, and Max Carney followed up with a vital tackle to maintain control.
Danny Lowe’s passing was instrumental early on, delivering a precise slide rule pass in the fifth minute that helped Maidstone transition from defence to attack. In the tenth minute, Zaph Kouassi’s long pass found Zane Clements inside the box, who calmly finished with his right foot to open the scoring, assisted expertly by Kouassi.
The pressure continued immediately, and just a minute later, Max Carney delivered a pinpoint cross that found Zane Clements again, who powered a close-range header past the goalkeeper to double the lead. Maidstone’s fluid passing and defensive resilience were evident as Liam Rich intercepted and launched another long pass in the following minutes, while Danny Lowe’s long pass created further chances.
Bernie Farley’s slide rule pass in the fourteenth minute and Eddie Ambrose’s interceptions kept Maidstone in control, with Rostron safely catching crosses and clearing threats. The attacking trio combined well again in the seventeenth and nineteenth minutes, with Zaph Kouassi flicking a pass to Sawyer Booth, who then slid a pass to Kouassi to score inside the box with his right foot, extending the lead to 3-0.
Sawyer Booth came close to adding to the tally but hit the crossbar shortly after. However, the goal drought was quickly ended as Tank Evans, assisted by Kouassi, scored with a right-footed finish inside the 6 yard box, lobbing the keeper in the twentieth minute. This period also saw a flurry of substitutions: Blake Vince replaced Liam Rich, Bertie Hayward came on for Tank Evans, and Harrison Smith replaced Zane Clements, signalling Maidstone’s intent to maintain intensity.

Defensive contributions from Eddie Ambrose and interceptions from Zane Clements prevented any Fisher breakthroughs.
The final goal came courtesy of Harrison Smith’s influence throughout the match, with Maidstone United KYL U14 sealing a comprehensive 7-0 victory. Liam Rich’s late defensive efforts, including tackles and headers, ensured the clean sheet was preserved until the final whistle.
Zane Clements was deservedly named Player of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance, contributing two goals and defensive interventions that set the tone for Maidstone’s dominance. This emphatic win will boost Maidstone United KYL U14’s confidence as they continue their league campaign.
