Magical Vegas lost for the second time in succession with a limp display against an organised but limp SYFC.
SY, who started with 10 men, couldn't get hold of the ball for the opening 15 minutes with Vegas pilling on the pressure from the first whistle. Jacob Bond looked in the mood for the game and it was summed up when he struck an unbelievable swerving shot from 25 yards out that the goalie could only watch fly into the net.
Vegas made chances, lots and lots of chances, a combination of the post, last ditch blocks and crazy goalkeeping stopped them increasing their lead. However, when a substitute goalie turned up and made it 11 v 11 - Vegas went into their shell and SYFC had an opportunity before half-time that should have sent the alarm bells ringing. It didn't ring loud enough...
SYFC came our fired up and their direct football cause Vegas problems from the restart. All seemed to be ok but when a defensive error on 60minutes left the SY striker a clear run at goal it signalled a similar collapse to the one the week previously against White City. in the space of 20minutes SYFC had forced 2 penalties - the first a very dubious 'fall', in which both where converted underneath the despairing dive of goalkeeper David Willis. It wasn't to be Vegas' day. They will need to be much more disciplined if they are to make a dent in the premier division this season.
