Lincoln United 3 vs 1 Loughborough Dynamo

A third league defeat in a row wasn't the true story in a spirited hard working performance at promotion chasers Lincoln United. Dynamo's performed much better than in recent weeks and worked hard but to no avail as costly errors were the big difference in the eventual outcome.

After Hermagou raced clear to be denied early doors, a trip by Dennis inside the area gave McGovern the chance to put the homeside 1-0 up on 29. That lead lifted Lincoln who ended the half the better side but Dynamo's were still in the game as they came out in the second half in positive fashion.

It was Lincoln though who furthered the advantage when a mistake by Shelton who tried to shield the ball out was capitalised on and slotted home by Cotton. Shelton soon made amends a minute later however by going up the other end and netting a fantastic long range drive on 53.

Hermagou might have equalised when he raced clear but it was a deflected drive by McGovern on 65 that ended the match as a contest.

Loughborough continued to probe and worked hard to dominate the last twenty minutes but too little too late as the homeside hung on.
