Kidlington 3 vs 0 Launton Under 17s

We travelled to Kidlington with just ten players available so we were up against it from the start. In the end we were undone by a direct free kick and two long balls over the top of our back four.

We started the game well and kept our shape really well. Zaz and Jake, supported by Matty, made some really strong runs from midfield which resulted in a few half chances for Tom and Miguel up front which we weren't quite able to convert. The hosts opened the scoring after 26 minutes from a direct free kick. For the rest of the first half some great defending from Jord, Will and in particular Max and Joe restricted them to a few long shots which George dealt with comfortably.

Kidlington doubled their lead two minutes into the second half and on the hour they increased their lead. To our massive credit we never buckled and continued to work hard right till the final whistle. Despite the result our boys deserve huge credit for their attitude throughout the game and there were some really strong performances all over the pitch.
