Venny U16 (Sun) 2 vs 4 L4 Football Club U16's

Congratulations to our U16's side who have booked a place in this season's Challenge Cup Final after a hard fought victory over The Venny at Clubmoor Rec. A brace from Charlie Hacking either side of a fine finish from Alex McDonald gave us a well deserved 3-0 lead just 2 minutes before the break. The red mist descended however when Sam O'Neill was shown a straight red card along with one of their players after both clashed after what looked like a fair challenge.

The decision was certainly not what we needed after putting ourselves in a great position and it meant a slight adjustment with James Boner coming on to partner Dan Edge at the back with Gift Sibanda being brought off. Venny hit two goals back and totally dominated the second half. We struggled keeping hold of the ball and getting the ball into their half. Venny pushed on with 25 minutes still to play believing they could force the game into extra time but substitute George Walker rided a challenge to keep his cool one v one with the keeper to send us into the final.

We will now face either Admiral Park or City of Liverpool at the end of June with silverware now our ultimate aim.
