L4 Football Club U16's 1 vs 2 Bootle Youth

Our three game unbeaten run was ended by a Bootle side who were determined to put one over on us following the last encounter earlier in the month when we took all 3 points in a 4-3 victory. Dampened by an injury to Kaleb Sweeney and with Ben Devlin not 100% fit we started poorly and looked a shadow of the team from recent weeks. There was nerves and sloppy play on the pitch and after just 21 minutes we found ourselves 2-0 down and stunned. Things improved slightly in the second half and we certainly began to look more threatening going forward but we failed to create much in the way of clear chances. Anthony Cooke's spot kick just 3 minutes into the second period looked like giving us a lifeline and we certainly had time on our side however it wasn't to be our day. The result was a massive blow to any ambition we may have had in challenging the top 3 yet we mustn't let this detract from the recent improvements where we have shown huge progress along with the capability of mixing it with strong opposition.
