L4 Football Club U16's 2 vs 0 Admiral Park U16 LPL

After conceding two late second half goals on Easter Sunday to throw away an early lead tonight was an opportunity to avenge for the disappointment of our last encounter with Admiral Park who going into tonight were sitting top of the league. Gift Sibanda came back into the starting line up following his impressive second half cameo on Sunday vs Bootle in place of Ben Devlin as we lined up in our normal 4-3-3 formation. It was a tense start however we began as brightly as the spring evening sunshine and two goals in 4 minutes the first coming via the head of Anthony Cooke from a well taken Zico Williams corner and then another tap in for the rejuvenated fox in the box Gift Sibanda who smashed home from Alex McDonalds far post cut back following some fantastic build up play between Paddy and Jude Carroll.

A change of shape and personnel of a few occasions in the second half got us over the line and the hard work out of possession and the excellent game management secured a thoroughly deserved first clean sheet of the season and a big 3 points to leave us just 5 points off the top. Next up Venny on Sunday which will be another stern test but it’s a chance for us to use tonight as a springboard.
