L4 Football Academy 3 vs 3 Quarry Green Guards

Our penultimate league game of the season was a Thursday evening encounter with Quarry Green Guards who claimed a victory over us back in September. The Kirkby side raced into a two goal lead and we were fortunate to go in at half time without further chances being converted by a team who had started on the front foot.

A change in personal and shape was made at the break and suddenly our lads began to get amongst them and compete in key areas of the pitch, we also started to play some outstanding football and finally got a goal back when kalu played a great ball for Ethan to run onto and smash past the keeper for his second goal in two games. The momentum was now well and truly with us however Quarry Green managed to capitalise on our high line and catch Harry out to make it 3-1 with just over 20 minutes to go. Time was still on our side however and the belief that we could still get something out of the game was in all 11 players fighting to turn things around. Ross grabbed a "lucky" goal but there was nothing lucky about the equaliser which was the very last kick of the game. A stunning strike which arrowed into the top corner to earn what was a well deserved draw. Credit to both teams who put on a great show.
