Eldonians 2 vs 4 L4 Football Academy

Following our involvement in International Tournament held in Dublin earlier this month it was back to league action and a meeting with Eldonians for the first time this campaign. A first half Ross Keegan hat-trick set us up nicely and we should have increased the lead to five or six but yet again wasteful chances were to be our downfall. Also the inability to defend corners gifted them a goal and gave them a lifeline on the stroke of half time.

We lost our way in the second half and were fortunate not to be pegged back. Sam gave a penalty away in the 49th minute when he slightly mistimed his challenge in the box. Sam was unfortunate as he tackling up until that point had been spot on. Harry got us out of jail by keeping out the resulting penalty however it wasn't long before Eldonians struck again to make it a nervy last 10 minutes. We should never have been in this situation as we were coasting a combination of getting far too casual and 5 changes in the second half played it's part but thankfully we managed to see it through when Gift won and converted a late penalty for his 9th goal of the season.
